
Phnom Penh Houseplant Festival & “Botanical Fantasy” The Art Exhibition Concludes Successfully
The 4th Phnom Penh Houseplant Festival was held from February 28 to March 2, 2025, at the Connexion building in Koh Pich, Phnom Penh. The event attracted plant and art enthusiasts, becoming a highlight of the spring season. Launched in 2021 by Chansopheak Hem, the festival has grown into Cambodia’s most prominent plant and gardening exhibition.
This year, a highlight was the “Botanical Fantasy” art exhibition, marking the first collaboration with curator Daiki Hiu, founder of KHMERer arts media. The exhibition introduced fresh energy into Phnom Penh’s plant and art scene. Centered on the theme of “Botanical Fantasy,” the show featured nine artists, including five Cambodian artists and four international artists from Taiwan, Korea, and the Philippines.
Through paintings, digital art and sculptures, the artists presented diverse interpretations of plants, ranging from vibrant and dynamic works to serene and tranquil styles, blending the beauty of nature with the creativity of art.

- International Artists: Fisheep Tung (Taiwan), Liu Hsin Yi (Taiwan), Euna Kwon (Korea), Michael Santiago (Philippines)
Curator Daiki Hiu shared that the goal of this exhibition was to inspire audiences with creativity and show how plants can become an integral part of artistic life. And he expressed excitement about this first collaboration, stating that it brought fresh perspectives to the festival. He aims to continue exploring innovative partnerships in the future, helping to solidify the Phnom Penh Houseplant Festival as a globally recognized annual event.
