The History of Postage: Cambodian Cultural Exhibition Opens at STOR-Y Design Hub
This exhibition “Postage Stamps, Featuring Cambodia - Part 2” take place from April 4 to May 31, 2025, at STOR-Y Design Hub, with free admission. Additionally, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to PSE - Pour un Sourire d'Enfant - Cambodia, supporting children in need.
The exhibition is not just a visual feast but also a valuable opportunity to educate the younger generation about Cambodia’s rich history and cultural identity. Themes include "The Evolution of Communication," "French Colonial Influence," "Cambodian Identity and Cultural Heritage in Stamps," and "The Golden Era of Cambodia," allowing visitors to experience the historical context and cultural revival of Cambodia through stamps.
Key historical periods, such as the Sangkum Reastr Niyum era and colonial influences, will be highlighted, exploring themes of national identity and cultural revival. The aim is to inspire national pride, educate younger generations, and preserve the unique heritage of postal art as a storytelling medium.
Curator Fat Jase, a 31-year-old Cambodian stamp collector, is passionate about this exhibition. His philatelic journey began in Poland, and he now boasts a collection of over 50,000 stamps. He emphasizes that stamps are more than collectibles; they are historical artifacts that reflect emotions and culture, connecting generations. He has a particular affinity for stamps that showcase Cambodia's resilience and traditions.
